Coffs Harbour Rally - Round 5
📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
2019 COFFS HARBOUR RALLY
It is with regret that we advise the 2019 Coffs Harbour Rally will not be proceeding this year.
Unfortunately, despite receiving initial acceptance of our route from Forestry at the end of 2018, it has now been found that our proposed route conflicts with the preparation work for Rally Australia which is scheduled to begin at the start of September.
We have attempted to put forward an alternate route to the south of Coffs Harbour, however that area is currently being impacted by two large bush fires which Forestry are unable to confirm at this stage if they will have an impact on our proposed roads. If there were to be damages caused, there are no guarantees that we could have the damages repaired in time for the event.
Given the close proximity to the event, and the time being during the School Holiday period, the decision has been made to cancel the 2019 event and re-schedule it to be run in 2020.
We are currently working through the 2020 calendar and will be able to announce a new date shortly for when we have been able to reschedule the event.
Whilst the cancellation is regrettable, the causes were out of our control. We do apologise that we could not deliver the event as scheduled, but we look forward to making an even bigger and better event than was originally planned next year.
The next event for members to compete in will be the Metz Gorge Rallysprint to be conducted by the New England Sporting Car Club on Sunday 6th October. This event is a non-series event and will not be a part of the 2019 Pipe King AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series.
Our next series event will be the final round of the series to be conducted by the Hastings Sporting Car Club in conjunction with AMSAG on October 26th & 27th October in the Kendall/Johns River area of the North Coast of NSW.
We look forward to seeing every one at the final round of the series.
