IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Since his appointment as AMSAG Chief Scrutineer at the beginning of 2025, Joe Chapman, along with the AMSAG Executive and Sporting Committees have been actively engaged in reviewing, refining and updating the AMSAG Vehicle Safety and Eligibility Regulations, particularly in response to the influx of new members seeking AMSAG Log Books, many of whom possess current Motorsport Australia, FIA, or AASA log books.

While we are committed to inclusivity and welcoming new competitors, ensuring safety remains paramount. Addressing these complexities and developing new regulations is a time-consuming endeavour.

As an interim measure, with effect from September 19 2025, AMSAG will provisionally accept log book applications for vehicles with current Motorsport Australia, AASA, or FIA log books while the committees finalise a more thorough review of the Vehicle Eligibility and Safety Regulations.

A final revision of the Regulations will be ratified in early 2026, prior to the commencement of the 2026 competition season.

However, this is not a blanket acceptance of all vehicles; all applications will still undergo our standard inspection process. Vehicles with substandard roll cages will not be approved, and alloy roll cages will remain unacceptable. Our scrutineers will be provided with specific guidelines for these evaluations.

For further information, please contact Joe Chapman via email at jchapman@amsag.com.au. Due to a high volume of inquiries, email is the preferred method of communication at this time.

For Queensland-based competitors, if you are unable to reach Joe, Dylan Richardson at Delta Autosport (deltaautosport@outlook.com) is also available for assistance.

We kindly request that all competitors treat our scrutineers with respect, as they are volunteers dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of our sport. Any instances of abuse or inappropriate behaviour towards our scrutineers will be addressed accordingly.
