2025 Rosewood Rally has been Cancelled

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The 2025 Rosewood Rally has been cancelled.

The phone call we were dreading has been received this morning.

The area has had 20 mm rain overnight and there is considerable more rain forecast through until late Friday night.

Avenues have been explored to relocate the Service Park, as this was one of our concerns over potential damages to the Golf Club grounds given this area is used year round by other associations and travellers for camping. If the event was to significantly damage the area we would be faced with a considerable damage bill from the club.

Unfortunately with the number of entries due to attend the event and associated service crew and support vehicles expected, there simply is not a suitable hard base area within the event vicinity that could be used.

Furthermore, following a course survey this morning, Forestry had expressed some concerns over the roads intended to be used as well.

In addition to the wet weather forecast, there is also snow forecast for Saturday morning with a wind chill factor of -2 and winds of 20-30km/h bringing possible snow showers down to 600 meters. With half of the event higher than 600 meters, we did not feel it would be an acceptable WH&S risk for our dedicated event officials to be exposed to those conditions.

Taking into consideration all of the above, the difficult decision has been made now to allow time for crews to cancel accommodation and travel plans as early as possible.

At this point in time, there are no further dates available in the calendar to reschedule the event. However, if we encounter issues with either the Monaro Stages or Oberon events, we can have this event ready to go at short notice as all approvals had been received.

Correspondence will be sent to those crews who have made payment already to enable refunds or future event credits to be applied.
