IMPORTANT NOTICE: 2023 Walcha Rally Cancelled

We unfortunately have bad news yet again regarding the Walcha Rally.

A decision has been made to cancel the event for 2023. With no available slots remaining in 2023 to run the event, this will now be pushed out to next year.

The decision was not made lightly, and was made in conjunction with Forestry, National Parks, Walcha Council and the Rural Fire Service.

The current dry conditions in the Walcha/Nowendoc region, along with the moderate fire danger rating and lack of substantial rain in the short term forecast have all ultimately led to the decision being made in the interests of safety. Given almost half of the event was to run on shire roads around farming properties, the risk to not only farm lands but also livestock was a high consideration in the decision.

We understand that people will rightly be unhappy with the outcome, but we wanted to make the call as early as possible to allow time for people to cancel plans rather than pushing forward and hoping for the best next week. 

We are in the process of finalising our calendar for next year, and plans are in place to move the event to a different time of year to help with these types of issues. 

An email has been sent to all event entrants to provide details for event entry fees to either be refunded or held in credit for future events.
