ANNOUNCEMENT

Unfortunately a decision has had to be made to cancel the North Coast Rally for this year.

Our original plan was to run the event in the Newry Forest area, however due to ongoing environmentalist protests to Forestry harvesting operations, NSW Police advised us they would not permit the event if it was to proceed in that area.

Event Director Nathan Quinn was forced to locate an alternative route, this was found to the North of Coffs Harbour in the Nana Glen, Bucca and Wedding Bells area.

The alternative route was submitted to Forestry and we have received advice yesterday that we would be unable to use the Wedding Bells and Bucca forests due to ongoing harvesting operations which have meant that those forests have been put into an exclusion zone by Forestry until at least December this year.

This is not only frustrating, but disappointing as it means we would also be unable to reschedule the event to a later time.

We have made one last ditch attempt to downgrade the event to a Rallysprint using the one section of forest not currently under exclusion, and we currently are awaiting a reply from the local Forestry co-ordinator to enable us to proceed with at least some kind of event.

We will make an announcement on this as soon as we have a response back from Forestry.

We can appreciate people need to make plans for travelling to the event, so we endeavour to make a call on it as soon as possible
