Announcement regarding the AMSAG AGM & Presentation
Category: General Updates
Due to the current Covid restrictions and associated difficulties in organising a physical meeting the AMSAG Executive have resolved to postpone our AGM which is normally held prior to the start of the season until a more suitable date later in the year at a location outstide of the Sydney Metropolitan Area, and may co-incide with one of our existing events to best facilitate a maximum physical turnout.
A notice of AGM will be sent out well in advance of the proposed date providing the date and details for the annual general meeting, so all members have plenty of notice.
As this will mean that the 2021 season will already be underway prior to the AGM, we will carry over the 2020 Rally and Rallysprint Series Regulations into the 2021 season. There have been no changes to the regulations with the exception of items that had already been introduced for the 2020 season regarding COVID specific procedures and also the details of the Bulletin released in February 2020 regarding P Plate Drivers competing in RMS Exempt Vehicles. You can access the 2021 Series Documents via the Regs and Forms page: Click Here
With regards to the Pipe King AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series and Midstate Freight Rallysprint Series, a decision has been made not to award a 2020 Series Champion due to only being able to conduct 2 events in each series. This will mean that there will not be a formal Presentation Night as is tradition at the start of the year.
We do however plan on holding a social event at a later date where we will present the trophies to the Outright and Class winners for the 4 events that were able to be conducted in 2020. This will be dependent upon the restrictions in place at the time and may also be held in conjunction with another of our planned 2021 events. Further notice will be provided well in advance of the proposed date to provide plenty of notice for all members to attend.
We look forward to kicking off the season proper at the first series events of the year with Round 1 of the Midstate Freight Rallysprint Series on 13th March at the Love Motorsport Rallysprint and the Pipe King AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series on 27th March at the Bulahdelah Classic Rally. Pending approval by local authorities, we do envisage being able to welcome spectators back to the events as well. More details for both of these events will be released in the coming days.
